J. J. (Jeremy Jeroham) Hartmann is currently attending the University of Waterloo where he is conducting research into human-computer interaction (HCI) in the areas of spatial augmented Reality (SAR), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) under Daniel Vogel (site). Previously, J. J. Hartmann studied computer science and music composition at Simon Fraser University (mentors include David MacIntyre, Owen Underhill, Janet Danielson, Martin Gotfrit, Arne Eigenfeldt, and Barry Truax). His areas of interest reside in HCI,  XR (Augmented/Virtual Reality), computer vision, machine learning, data mining, software development, and signal processing.

Other interests include:

  • Interactive systems for performance and installation

  • Artificial Intelligence - In music creation and video games

  • Transhumanism and other philosophical endeavours
